On Friday over 676 people were arrested in Mexico on a drug bust. Yes you read that right, I said 676 people were arrested. They found over 40,000 pounds of marijuana and 467 kilograms of cocaine. How on earth is that much drug usage in our world? This scares me, in a single day that many people were arrested for drugs. This is happening right next to our borders too. Now I know that drugs are becoming a more popular thing in our society today but these numbers seem substantial to me. I am aware that drug trafficing is already taking place on our borders from Mexico, but I just hope that the numbers continue to grow and I am hopeful that law enforcement is able to stop these drugs from coming into our country.

It's pretty pathetic that drugs are just becoming the norm in our society, and you are right it is scary too.. It makes me nervous to think that everyone (or most) seem to think that this "habit" is okay and it has become socially acceptable.

WOW!!! That's alot of people for a single days arrest, but I'm not surprised by the amounts of drugs confiscated on the border. People try and smuggle drugs and different illegal things across the border everyday and many succeed, lets face it its just how people work. Society has adapted to the age of drugs and unfortunately I don't think we've seen the end of this trend.
ReplyDeleteThat's Mexico for ya. But on the other hand I would not doubt that America probaly has that amount or even more hidden somewhere probably in California. That is staggering to here that many people got arrested for cocaine.
ReplyDeleteI agree, drugs are starting to become a way of life in this country and others too. I think that Obama is gonna have to do some serious crackdowns along with other things that are going on in this country, for instance gas prices. I'm telling ya, things are starting to get ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that it was a good thing that those people being caught is great. I also must say that it is a shame that, that much drugs exist. I ,personally must say that i think drugs should go away period. It is also sad that people think they need them.
ReplyDeleteI don't think illegal drugs are a good thing, nor do I think dealing drugs is a way to live your life. However, I do think that no matter what and no matter how unfortunate, people want and will find a way to get illegal drugs and the people who deal them may do so because it is a "job" that pays their living (I know...still no excuse, but some people aren't as smart as others). Cracking down on drug usage would be a good thing, especially the harder drugs like cocaine, but as I continue to hear people say "legalize marijuana" I kind of say I hope they keep that on the streets (because people won't just stop dealing/doing them) and whatever crazy lengths people will go to to deal drugs or to get buy drugs, their getting caught is inevitable.
